- Title:
- Collection of three syair and one hikayat
- Scope & Content:
-
Four texts in Malay in Jawi script.
A: ff.1v-18v. Syair orang berbuat amal, narrative verse on the obligations of Islam. Written in Kedah by Fakir Dar al-Aman (see f.1v).
B: ff.20r-36r. Syair Silambari, concerning the conflict between a Portuguese and a Chinese over a woman. Decorated initial pages, with rectangular black and red frames filled with trailing lotus flowers in black ink (ff.22v-23r), and decorated tailpiece at end (f.36r). Colophon on f.36r states that this MS was copied by Ibrahim on 18 Syawal 1220 (9 January 1806) (sanat 1220 tahun tahun wau pada dualapan belas hari bulan Syawal kepada hari Arb'a bahwa pada ketika itu ditamatkan kitab Silambari namanya kisah Feringgi ambil bini Cina di dalam negeri Melaka jadi perang besar dengan Wilanda adapun yang empunya surat ini wa-katibuhu Ibrahim).
C: ff.36v-45. Syair surat kirim kepada perempuan. A love-poem in the form of a letter. Illuminated initial pages with double headpieces in red, black, blue, green and yellow (ff.36v-37r). Text set in two columns in ruled black-red-black frames. As this syair continues directly on from the previous one, it was probably also copied by Ibrahim in 1806.
D: ff.49-77. Hikayat mi‘rāj Nabi Muhammad.
On f.49r an ownership note of Lebai Marim of Padang Lalang (Inilah kitab Lebai Marim [m.r.y.m] yang tinggal di Padang Lalang; yang punya kitab ini tuan Lebai Marim orang Jawi [? j.a.r/d/w.i]). On f. 77v note: ini surat Tuk Haji Muhammad.
