- Material is in TIFF and has been recorded onto CDs and DVDs. The images have been scanned at 300ppi or 400ppi unless otherwise stated. In some cases the digital copy has not captured the full page. Some images are missing, corrupt or compressed. Some files have text missing due to the original newspaper being torn, cut or has watermarks.
- Custodial History:
- This collection comprises digital copies of original newspapers created as part of the project: EAP010 Preservation of Rare Publications in Mongolia. The material in this collection was purchased by the Press Institute between 1997-2006. The finding aids used to compile this catalogue were created by the Project.
- Source of Acquisition:
- Received from Ms Bayarmaa Ontsor, between August 2007 and June 2008 (Accession Records EAP010/1 to EAP010/4).
- Arrangement:
- The material has been arranged into series by the Project. This catalogue adds a new EAP Reference Number.
- Administrative Context:
- The Press Institute of Mongolia has been systematically collecting Mongolian periodical publications published by private individuals and media institutions since the democratic revolution in 1990. Despite their relatively recent publication date, the newspapers from this period are particularly rare because other cultural institutions in Mongolia did not collect periodical publications during the transition period.
