Adat Aceh, in Malay in Jawi script. Apparently copied from Edinburgh University Library manuscript New College 132, but lacking pp.25 and 26 of the Edinburgh MS. Contents:
A: ff.3v-26v. Mābain al-salāṭīn, perintah segala Raja-raja. Ascribed to Ismā’īl bapa Aḥmad. Advice to kings, divided into 31 majlis; the end of majlis 5 to the first part of majlis 24 is missing.
B: ff.28r-29v. A list of 37 Sultans of Aceh.
C: ff.31r-47v. Silsilah segala raja-raja yang jadi kerajaan dalam Aceh bandar Darussalam. A summary of Acehnese dynastic history from the initial Islamization to the early 19th century A.D.
D: ff.48r-102v. Adat majlis raja-raja. A description of court ceremonies, ending abruptly.
E: ff.103v-111r. An enumeration of court dignitaries.
F: ff.111r-176r. Regulations for the port of Aceh.
On ff.2v-3r is a note on the duration of the world.

Dimensions: 205 x 160 mm. 178 ff; English paper, 'W Balston 1815'. 11 lines per page, black ink, some rubrication. Section headings labelled maṭlab baḥth, 'section discussing ...' are written in red ink diagonally in the margins, sometimes followed by the subject of the section. Catchwords on the verso of each folio. Full black leather binding with embossed medallions and frames.
- Custodial History:
- On f.2r, inscribed 'W.E. Phillips to his valued friend R.T. Farquhar'. Phillips was Governor of Penang, 1805-1824; Farquhar died in 1830. The same dedication is found in Cambridge University Library Or.1364.
