Hikayat Ceke1 Waneng Pati, in Malay in Jawi script. The colophon (f.153v) gives the date as 10 Zulhijah 1201 (the figures of the year written from right to left) (23 September 1787), Friday, in the year zai, and the scribe is named as Da'ut.
Concerning the sons of Batara Indera Kusuma of Kuripan. The eldest, ruler of Kuripan, meets his brother, ruler of Daha, in an island in the Southern Ocean and they agree to marry their children to one another.
Contains the same text as MSS Malay C 1, without the second chapter.
The first two pages, ff.1v-2r, are set in triple-ruled black ink frames.
Above the frame at the start of the text on f.1v is an exhortation to readers not to believe the contents of this story: Maka hendaklah tuan yang membaca surat ini jangan menaruh iman di dalam hati karena semata sekaliannya itu dusta belaka lagi ...; and a similar comment is are found at the top of f.2r (addressed to listeners, sekalian orang yang menengar surat ini). On f.5r the warning of the danger posed by this old Javanese fantasy tale to Muslim faith is made explicit, and occupies a full page: Jangan sekali-sekali lupa akan Allah dan rasulNya pada tatkala membaca surat ini perkataan surat Jawa ini terlalu amat dusta sekali oleh candakan orang yang menyurat yang bijaksana orang tetapi bukannya orang pada masa ini dahulu punya perbuatan ini maka orang sekarang ini sedikit2 dicandanya pulak jadilah perpanjanglah kata. m.
On the verso of every single folio of text, there is a warning to readers not to believe in (the story): jangan beriman akan (dia).
There is a change of hand on f.115 v.
On f.1r are sketches of flowers and foliate scrolls in blank ink, and the note: Cit daripada adinda Dewa datang kepada kek[anda?], the ending of which has been trimmed. At the end (on unnumbered folios) are two more pages of drawings, one with a flowering shrub and one with a wayang figure.
