Hikayat Mesa Tandraman, in Malay in Jawi script.
Described as a Javanese story. It tells of two divine brothers Sang Dermadewa and Dewa Kisna Indra. The latter became a hermit on the mountain Puspagiri and the former became king of Kuripan. Dermadewa's sons became the kings of Kuripan, Daha, Gegelang, and Wirabumi. His daughter Candra Dewi became a hermit.
Colophon at the end of the text on f.164r states that the copying was completed on 6 Rejab 1221 (19 September 1806) in a dal akhir year, on Friday, at four o'clock, and the owner was Mister Raffles and the scribes were Ibrahim and Ismail (wa-katibuhu wa-syahidahu Ibrahim yang menyuratnya dengan Ismail) .
A further ownership statement is found on an unnumbered folio (f.168v) dated 1222 AH (1807 AD) in Penang, and naming the owner as Ibrahim Kerani, secretary to Raffles: Hikayat Jawa Misa Tandraman namanya hikayat ini adapun yang empunya dia Ibrahim kerani tuan sekertaris Mister Raffles negeri Pulau Pinang tamat tahun sanat 1222 tahun alif.
The first two pages are set within double-ruled black ink frames with a wide margin, with a further double-ruled frame around the edges of the paper.
