Red lacquered or painted wooden box for Buddhist folding book (samut khoi), most likely for one Kammavāca manuscript or other significant canonical text.
Illustrations: Stencilled gilt floral decorations on the sides, and large depiction of Narayana resting on Sheshanaga surrounded by deva figures covering the surface of the lid; made in Thai Rattanakosin style.
