Letters of nineteenth-century musicians, etc., with portrait engravings and other related materials. Arranged alphabetically. In German, French, English and Italian. The collection includes several letters addressed to Julius Cyriax (1840-92), co-founder of the London Wagner Society. Recipients are listed where named, and it is likely that several of the letters to unnamed correspondents were also sent to Cyriax and his wife. Other letters are addressed to Kate Terry (in her retirement from the stage, as Mrs Lewis) and her daughter Lucy.
