- Letters to Maurice Ernst al. Ernest, doctor, biologist and writer, from his children Maurice and Yvonne, written from Cologne. One is dated 20 May 1931, the other undated but clearly written at the same time, when they were aged thirteen and nine respectively. Both send birthday greetings to their father. Maurice junior describes a bicycle ride to the Drachenfels, whilst Yvonne tells of a school medical examination. Both write in German, though Yvonne is less competent in the language, and both introduce phrases in English.
