A document drawn up by the master and company of the guild of cobblers (schowerchten) of Helmstedt in Lower Saxony, setting out rules for the conduct of workers and apprentices with financial penalties for infringement. Unacceptable behaviour includes the use of bad language, excessive drinking, going out into the street improperly dressed, handling weapons dangerously, playing tricks (pagenuyler) and disobeying a master.
The document itself is undated but there are additions in two other cursive hands, the first of which is dated 1559. They appear to cover further regulations of the same sort.
