Hikayat Nabi Yusuf, in Malay in Jawi script.
The colophon on f.31r states that is was copied on 5 Ramadan 1216 (9 January 1802) by Muhammad Lebai with the assistance of Bapu Syaikh Alaidin (yang menyurat hikayat nabi Allah Yusuf ini darpada permulaan datang kesudahan senda Muhammad Lebai tetapi ada khat Bapu Syaikh Alaidin).
The original owner and commissioner of the manuscript was Cik Candra (named on f.2v). The MS was subsequently acquired by Muhammad Yusuf ibn Mir Hasan for two rials (f.31v).
The artist responsible for the illuminated frames was Cik Mat Tuk Muda, son of Raja Inderawangsa, of Kayangan, in Perlis (f. 3v: Inilah bekas tangan Ci' Mat orang Kayangan dipinjam oleh Ci' Candra; f. 4r: Inilah tulisan Ci' Mat Tu' Muda anak Raja Inderawangsa di Perlis). The name 'Cik Mat Tuk Muda' can be elaborated as 'Datuk Muda Encik Muhammad'.
There are notes in Tamil on the front cover (f.1r) and doodles on ff. 1v, 31v, 32r, 33v, 34v, including a love letter from Radin Inu Jayeng Sari to Radin Galuh Inderaputera Gunung Sari, in the hand of Muhammad Yusuf ibn Mir Hasan.

Dimensions: 310 x 195 mm. 34 ff; Chinese paper (with visible brushstrokes, eg. on ff. 3v, 4r, 26r); endpapers of English paper, 'S Wise & Patch', 'V E I C', '1807'. The heavy soiling on ff. 1r and 34v indicate that these were probably the original covers of the MS. Betwen 20-23 lines per page, black ink, text set within double-ruled frames; catchwords on the verso of each folio. Small, wispy hand, with many changes in style, eg. very long curved tails of letters on f.5r, and long diagonal top strokes on f.25v.
