Some of the poets are known and include: Hassan Ahmadu Ganye; Usman dan Fodio; Naana Asmaa''u Fodio (daughter of Usman dan Fodio); Moodibo Raaji (who stayed with Usman dan Fodio in Sokkoto and migrated to Aadamaawa); Taanu Mo Iililel (student of Moodibo Raaji); Sheehu Abdulaahi Gwandu (brother of Usman dan Fodio); Moodibbo Aminu (student of Moodibo Raaji); Dembo ''bii Juuti (disciple of Usman dan Fodio, stayed in Sokkoto); Hassan Ahmad (Muhammed Bashir Abubakar''s uncle and descendant of Moodibo Raaji); Malam Aminu Bello (Muhammed Bashir Abubakar''s Uncle and descendant of Moodibo Raaji); Saídu Bello (grandson of Usman dan Fodio). Arrangement:: HAG, NAF, RAJ,TMI and UDF are abbreviations of the authors of the poems, WMB refers to other Qur''anic scholars that composed the poems, often this author is not mentioned and thus unknown. The number where give by Muhammed Bashir Abubakar, asissted by Dr. Sannu. The numbers where copied, with some additional numbering for uncoded poems (also present in the notes accompanying the original manuscripts in Nigeria. To disambiguate, a letter was added to the code of some poems that were accidentally given the same code.
