- Scope & Content:
- Digital images of Syamsu Adnan K's collection of Malay manuscripts. The collection is diverse, and contains collections of syairs by authors from Penyengat, one of which is a collection of erotic poems with pasted in photographs. There are also works on Islamic law and the court in Riau: notes on verdicts and regulation of court cases in the court of justice in Riau, Islamic inheritence law in the form of a poem. The collection also features works on ethics and the oneness of God and knowledge. A prose story (hikayat) about the history of the Sultan and viceroy in Riau and a printed part of Raja Ali Haji’s monolingual dictionary printed in Singapore in 1928. The works are from the first half of the twentieth century, from 1912 - 1931.
