Papakĕm Pawukon according to the title page (f. 1v.).
The work is said to have come from Kyai Suradimanggala, Bupati sĕpuh of Dĕmak, in ‘Bagor’ (Bogor) in AJ 1742 AD 1814-15. This information clearly links this MS to Mackenzie Private 42, MSS Jav 67 and MSS Jav 55. See also the RAS MSS Raffles Malay 43, 44, 45, 46, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 58, 59, 69, 61, 67, all said to have come from Kyai Suradimanggala, Bupati sĕpuh of Dĕmak, in ‘Bagor’ (Bogor) in AJ 1742.
There are several texts, all but D below in Javanese in Javanese script with parallel romanised Malay translations:
A: ff. 1v.-5r. text beginning Anĕnggih wontĕn cariyos kadhapur saking Canthaka Parwa pinangkane. The Malay translation understands this as Bahoewa inie adanja swatoe tjarieta ijang asalnja darie die tana bezar tjantaka proema adanja, which shows that the Malay translations in this volume are unreliable. The text mentions Maharaja Gilingwĕsi, Dewi Sinta, Dewi Landĕp, etc.
B: ff. 5v.-64r. Pawukon, with pencil and watercolour illustrations of the attributes of the 30 wukus. The style is comparable to that of Mackenzie Private 42, MSS Jav 67 and MSS Jav 55.
C: ff. 64v.-70r. Text on the wukus, described as pituturipun wuwukon ingkang tigang dasa. Ends with a passage about sidĕkahipun titiyang pĕjah.
D: ff. 71v.-72r. Romanised genealogy of the rulers of Java, beginning with ‘Nurchayo’ and extending to Susuhunan Pakubuwana IV (1788-1820) of Surakarta and Hamĕngkubuwana IV (1814-22) of Yogyakarta. An English note says that this was ‘Written at Bogor in the Javanese year 1742’ CE 1814-15. On f. 72r. a coloured genealogical chart in the form of a tree of the rulers of Java, from Adam to Sasunan Pakubuwana kĕĕmpat (of Surakarta) and Mataram kĕĕmpat (Sultan Hamengkubuwana IV of Yogyakarta), in Malay in Jawi script, entitled Adapun ini suatu masyal pohon riwayat tahta kĕrajaan tanah Jawa, with colophon: tĕrsurat di nĕgĕri Bogor 1742.
