Loose collection of prints, probably compiled by Sir John Clague (a number have his name pencilled on the reverse]. This miscellaneous collection can be broken down into the following broad categories:

Prints 1-53: photographs taken in Burma (mainly the Shan States) by Frank Samuel Grose between around 1913 to the 1930s. These prints are briefly captioned in ink on the front of the print, together with a negative number which refers to the collection of Grose's negative held in Photo 19. Grose's negative notebooks in some cases supply further information as to date, location and occasion, and captions for these prints have been compiled using both these sources.

Prints 54-64: miscellaneous prints of village scenes (some possibly by Grose, but not identified as such), views of the oilfields at Yenangyaung, and port scenes at Rangoon.

Prints 65-82: topographical and architectural views of Rangoon, mainly of official buildings erected in the (?)1930s.

Prints 83-94: the war in Burma. Mainly official propaganda photographs issued by South East Asia Command Film Unit.

Prints 95-106: miscellaneous post-war views of Burma, most issued by the Government Public Relations Department in 1946, plus two of Burmese politicians in London (date unspecified).

Prints 107-113: seven larger photographs, pre-war, showing the Palace at Mandalay, the Gokteik viaduct, ethnic studies, Rangoon architecture and the Yeanangyaung oilfields.
