Collection of 61 loose hand-coloured salted paper prints from calotype negatives, each mounted on card measuring 348 x 470 mm, with contemporary hand-written captions at bottom left. The collection comprises topographical and architectural views in and around Madras. Fiebig's visit to Madras can be reasonably accurately dated to around 1852 from a brief article which appeared in the 'Illustrated Indian Journal of Arts' (Madras, 1852), which describes his visit of 'an expert German professor of the art, M.
