Scope & Content:: Blue and tan half-leather album, 255x307mm, containing mounted prints with handwritten captions. Pages have been decorated with floral designs which frame the prints. A label on the inside front cover reads: 'Presented to the India Office Libraray by A.E. Ellis. Donation 2532'. A hand-drawn title-page reads: 'Sun Pictures. By R.A.E.' and the last page has a portrait of the photographer with the caption, 'And so, R.A.E. bids India Adieu, 1898-1904'. Opposite this is a biographical note: 'RAE = the Revd Robert Arthur Ellis, Wesleyan Methodist Minister (b.1873, d.1962). ME = Mary Ellis (née Gardner), MB, Ch.B (Glasgow), wife of RAE. This album, the work of RAE, presented by his son, Arthur Erskine Ellis, MA (Oxon), born at Bangalore, 1 Oct 1902'.
