Scope & Content:

Collection of loose prints mounted on card with typescript identifications of artist, subject and date beneath. The majority of the prints are black-and-white photographic copies of paintings, drawings or works in other graphic media, although there are also a few coloured photo-mechanical reproductions. There are also portraits of two of the artists most prominently represented. The collection includes a copy of the catalogue to the Arts Council's 1965 exhibition Indian Painting Now, which featured the work of Avinash Chandra, Vasudeo S. Gaitonde, Maqbool Fida Husain, Tyeb Mehta, Mohan Balkrishna Samant and Francis N. Souza. This collection of material was probably gathered together in connection with that exhibition.
