A.C. Pearson Collection: Miscellaneous photographs of India.

Collection consists of one post-bound album, 340x425mm, made with brown paper covers and containing 67 prints loosely mounted in corner slits, and 49 loose mounted prints. The majority of prints are captioned by hand. The front cover of the album has the following inscriptions: 'Photographs of places, scenes and people in India' and 'A.C. Pearson, Ringsfield Rectory'. The photographs include architectural and topographical views at Calcutta, Barakpur, rural Bengal, Allahabad, Bareilly, Naini Tal, Ranikhet, Kaushani, Almora, Dagshai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Srinagar, Mussoorie (including Landour), Delhi, Fatehpur Sikri and Agra, as well as views of damage to shipping and buildings after the 1864 Calcutta cyclone (possibly the work of Pearson & Paterson who exhibited a record of the disaster at the Photographic Society of Bengal), and views of an Assam tea plantation.
