Album: 'The Sikh Pioneers 1857-1933'

Scope & Content:

Blue full-leather post-bound album (front cover warped) measuring 308x426mm, with title as above stamped in blind together with the regimental badges of the Corps of Sikh Pioneers and of the three regiments (23rd, 32nd and 34th) of Sikh Pioneers from which it was formed by amalgamation in 1929. Prints are mounted one to a page, recto only, with letterpress captions. The album consists mainly of group portraits and a series of views of the farewell ceremonial Parade of 8 December 1932. The Corps was disbanded in 1933.
