Collection comprising two boxes of lantern slides (Photo 728/1-2). The first relates to India, the second to Iran.
Note: Arthur Leslie Spence (1889-1951) was the son of a cabinet maker from Kettering and a keen amateur photographer. During the First World War he served with the British Army attached to a wireless/telegraphy unit on the North-West Frontier. He also served in campaigns in Afghanistan and Iran and with the Marri Punitive Force of 1917-18. A collection of his photographs, given by his daughter Joan, is held by the Derbyshire Record Office in Matlock.
