- A collection of ledgers and folders containing information about trials held at the shrine of the sea goddess, Nae, in Accra, Ghana. The documents include trial records, correspondence, and related papers. The hard copies are stored in the library shelves of the Nae We Shrine, and are under protection of the secretary and priest of the shrine. The trials held at the Nae We shrine are not part of the Ghanaian court system, but fall under the category of traditional tribunals. The shrine is administered by a priest and several elders, all male. Trials are conducted in the Ga language primarily, but also occasionally in Twi or English. All records are in English. - Trials have been held at the Nae We Shrine in Accra for centuries, but records date back to 1984. The documents are the property of the shrine, and are under the protection of the shrine priest. Documents are managed by the shrine secretary. The documents are held at the shrine on shelves in the library.

- Documents are ordered chronologically, according the the dates of trials. They are stored on shelves in a library, but are not kept in strict order there. Each secretary has altered the method of record keeping slightly, but the trials are ordered chronologically, and named after the neighborhood in which the alleged violation took place.
- Administrative Context:
- EAP540 was funded by the Endangered Archives Programme. It created digital copies of items from the Korle We (the shrine to the Goddess of the Lagoon), Nai We (the shrine to the Goddess of the Sea) and Sakumo Tsoshishi (the shrine to the God of War).
