Scope & Content:

Green full leather bound album measuring 310x435mm, some scuffing, with title as above stamped in gold on front cover. Prints 1-12 show construction scenes at the headwork of the Chenab Canal at Khanki in the Gujranwala District of eastern Pakistan, 1891-2. Platinum prints captioned in ink in a neat hand beneath each image. Prints 13-20, albumen prints, views of the Nadrai Aqueduct on the Lower Ganges Canal (duplicated in Photo 387) and four smaller miscellanous prints (two of which are portrait groups). The second group of prints are lightly captioned in pencil and these may well be an addition to the original album.
