Full leather bound album measuring 323x430mm, richly decorated in gold leaf, with title as above stamped in gold on front cover and with a heavy brass clasp lock. The first page of the volume comprises an illuminated address, from the employees of the newspaper, dated 7 January 1899 and dedicated to the editor T.J. Bennett and the managing proprietor F.M. Coleman. This is followed by a five-page letterpress history of the newspaper and account of the Diamond Jubilee, reproduced from the Times of India of 3 November 1898. Inserted loose in the album is the text of an address read at the Jubilee celebrations by F.A. Periera, Chief Clerk of the Job Department. The album contains group portraits of staff and exterior and interior views of the offices taken between 1880 and 1898. The album is further enclosed in a wooden leather-covered box in mock-book form, with the following inscription in gold on the front cover: 'The humble address of congratulation to Thomas Jewell Bennett, Esq., and Franck Morris Coleman, Esq., by the employees of the Times of India 1899. To Bennett, Coleman & Co.'
