Volume measuring 318 x 415 mm, modern red buckram binding, containing 59 albumen print views of Athens, mounted one to a page (recto only) on light card. The volume was conserved and rebound in 1997-98, but no information on the original binding appears to have been recorded. The majority of the prints are signed in the negative by the photographer and a few have pencilled captions in German on the page mounts. A number of pages also bear the wet-stamp of the Leipzig bookseller, J. C. Hinrich. The views are predominantly of Athens architecture of the Greek and Roman periods.
