Scope & Content:: Collection of 99 albumen and carbon prints on card mounts contained in two red portfolios, with photographer’s credit printed beneath the image, on the tinted border surrounding the print. This collection appears to be a conflation of two batches of prints acquired by the British Museum on different occasions. The 12 views printed in carbon pigments are all date-stamped 14 March 1872, the remaining prints 12 June 1873. The photographs have been arranged alphabetically by geographical location, rather than acquisition date.
