Scope & Content:

Green cloth bound photograph album measuring 290 x 408 mm, with silk title panel fixed to front cover and bookplate of Library of the Imperial Japanese Embassy, London on front pastedown. The album contains a letterpress leaf listing the titles of the photographs contained in the album, followed by 36 gelatin silver prints mounted recto and verso on card, with letterpress title labels laid down beneath each image. The photographs appear to be copy prints, and on a few images the blind embossed stamp of an unidentified photographer (presumably Russian, since the stamp is in Cyrillic script) can be detected. The overall contents of this volume is given on the caption page as 'Action de l'armée à Vladivostock' and relates to the activities of the Japanese and other allied forces in Eastern Siberia at the close of the First World War.
