Quarter leather and red buckram volume (British Museum binding), measuring 331 x 251 mm, coat of arms in gilt on front and back boards, containing 30 albumen print portraits of contemporary celebrities, photographed and published by Adolphe Naudin, with biographical notes by Hamilton Hume. This part-work appeared in six monthly parts between November 1864 and April 1865, each issue containing one large portrait or view, followed by four carte-de-visite size portraits mounted on a single page. The wrappers for each issue are bound in. A note on the cover of part 6 states that the publication was discontinued with this issue.
