Imprint: London: Sampson Low, Marston, Low, and Searle, Crown Buildings, Fleet Street. 1875.

Folio, original blue cloth binding, with title in gilt on upper board, measuring 440 x 330 mm, and containing twenty carbon print reproductions of paintings in Florentine galleries, 'photographed direct from the original paintings, by the well-known artists Alinari Brothers of Florence, expressly for this work.' The prints are mounted on card, one to a page, each with an accompanying page of letterpress description. Despite the publication date of 1875, the British Museum date stamp indicates that the work had appeared by late 1874. The gutta percha binding of the volume has perished and all leaves are loose.
