Half leather and blue buckram volume (British Museum binding), measuring 422 x 275 mm, with coat of arms in gilt on front board, containing 27 carbon print portraits of distinguished churchmen, mounted on stout card with facsimile signature and photographer's credit printed beneath. The photographs are mounted on linen guards, with letterpress biographical notes bound in. All the portraits are credited to 'Samuel A. Walker, Ecclesiastical Art Photographer, 230 Regent Street,' and were reproduced in carbon by Waterlow and Son. The series was issued as a monthly part-work, each number containing three portraits. This volume contains parts 1 (July 1889) to 9 (March 1890), with the orignal wrappers bound in at the end of the volume.
