Folio, half-leather, green cloth boards, 450 x 335 mm, upper board detached; light blue part wrappers bound in; issued in 20 parts, with three prints per part, price 10s per part. prints mounted one to a page, verso, with lithographed captions beneath each print, and 'Frith, Photo. 1857' beneath each print, with one leaf of accompanying letterpress description. The rear page of the wrapper for part 1 advertises the work in progress; the following issues list the 75 prints comprising Frith's forthcoming 'Egypt and the Holy Land.' Some waterstaining throughout on leaves, photographs largely unaffected.
