Pathways of Palestine. A descriptive tour through the Holy Land. 2nd series. Photographer(s): Good, Frank Mason
- Scope & Content:
-
Imprint: xxx
Quarter leather and green buckram volume measuring 308 x 263 mm, with the first and second series bound in together. The work comprises a descriptive tour of the Holy Land by Henry Baker Tristram, each chapter illustrated by a photographic view by an unidentified photographer, reproduced in woodburytype. The first series contains 23 prints, the second 22. The titlepage states that the complete work will contain 'forty-four permanent photograph,' but this does not apparently include the frontispiece to the first series, which brings the total for the two parts to 45 photographs. The wrappers for each series is bound in at the end of the volume, and this indicates that the first series appeared in January 1881 and the second in October 1882, each series priced at half-a-crown.
