Folio, half-leather binding with purple buckram boards, measuring 480 x 362 mm, with royal coat of arms and title as follows stamped in gilt on front board: 'Ordnance Survey of the Peninsula of Sinai. Part III. Photographs Vol. II. 1869.' With label pasted to front fixed endpaper reading: 'Presented to The British Museum by Authority of the Right Honble. the First Commissioner of H. M. Works &c.' The volume consists of printed titlepage (with an original print laid down beneath the title), 1 p. listing the titles of the photographs and 60 prints (arched tops) laid down one to a page (recto only), with title beneath each image and photographer's credit, reading 'J. McDonald, Color Sergt. R.E. Photo.' beneath the bottom left corner of each print.
