Quarter leather and crimson buckram volume (rebacked), measuring 188 x 160mm, with volumes 1 and 2 bound together. Each volume consists of 24 portraits of eminent medical men, pasted one to a page on card within red borders, with facsimile signatures beneath each image, accompanied by a biographical notice. An advertisement inserted at the end of volume 2 lists over 500 portraits of medical men available from the photographer.
