Crown quarto volume, measuring 228 x 187 mm, in original green cloth binding, stamped in gilt on upper board, 'Photographs by G. W. Wilson. The Caledonian Canal.' The work contains 12 small albumen prints mounted one to a page on light card (recto only), with letterpress captions beneath and an accompanying page of letterpress description for each image. This volume forms part of a series of topographical views of England and Scotland, produced by Wilson between 1865 and 1868, of which 11 parts are held in the British Library.
