Quarto, green cloth binding, with title and decorative design in gilt on upper board, pp. vii, 183; containing 20 albumen prints of Mexican views, artefacts and copies of paintings. Three photographs are credited in the preface to 'Messrs. Kilburn Brothers, of Littleton, N. H.' With the exception of photographs copied from illustrations, 'all the photographs are taken from photographs or prints brought with me from Mexico.' Prints 19-20 are reduced copies of photographs taken by Désiré Charnay in 1860 and published in E. Viollet-le-Duc, 'Cités et Ruines Américaines' (1862): see copy at shelfmark 14000.k.4.
