Quarter leather and brown buckram stab-sewn volume (British Museum binding), measuring 233 170 mm, containing 24 albumen print portraits accompanied by letterpress biographical notices. This volume was issued in eight monthly parts (numbered 9-16 in continuation of volume 1), from February-October 1864, each part priced at 2s. 6d. and containing three portraits. There was no issue for September 1864.The part wrappers are bound into the work, volumes 1 and 2 bound together. British Library holdings comprise volumes 1-6, bound in three volumes.
