Folio, half-leather and brown buckram boards, measuring 370 x 283 mm and containing 36 carbon print portraits, guard-mounted on stout green card, accompanied by letterpress biographical memoir. The card mounts are pre-printed with the photographer's credit in the lower left corner and most are also printed 'W. & S. Ltd. Permanent,' with the prints laid down within a ruled border. This volume comprises parts 13-24, issued monthly from January-December 1889. With part wrappers for nos. 13 and 24 bound in at end of volume. See volume one for a note on the series.
