Oblong quarto volume, half-leather binding with green cloth boards (British Museum binding 1939), measuring 297 x 392 mm. The original black cloth upper board covering has been pasted onto the front endpaper: this is stamped in gilt with the title 'Types of the Indian Army' and 'F. Bremner Photo Artist India.' A further printed label is pasted onto the front free endpaper, reading, 'Published by Fred. Bremner, Rawal-Pindi & Quetta, India. London address — 110, Cannon Street, E.C.' The work contains 60 portraits of soldiers of Indian Army Regiments, pasted onto card mounts (one to a page, recto and verso), with letterpress captions above and brief descriptive text below. The contents is arranged geographically, as follows: Bengal and Punjab, prints 1-25; Punjab Frontier Force, prints 26-32; Madras Army, prints 33-37; Bombay Army, prints 38-50; Special and local corps, prints 51-60.See also, A.
