Green buckram bound quarto (Patent Office binding), measuring 310 x 247 mm, with titlepage, pp. 2 list of plates and 23 salted paper prints from calotype negatives pasted down on guarded mounted card pages. The prints are mounted within ruled borders, with print numbers in manuscript beneath the bottom right-hand corner of each image. A letterpress label pasted to the titlepage reads: 'Notice to the Reader. The plates of the present work are impressed by the agency of Light alone, without any aid wahtever from the artist's pencil.
