By a Chinese artist, c.1830.
Inscribed: ‘Changkihur, the Mahommedan Rebel against China, A.D. 1826-28, or Prince Jangheer who attempted to recover the Kingdom of his Forefathers, failed, was cut to inches, in Peking, June 26 1828. Reign of Taon-Kwang, 8th year 5th moon 15th day.’
Name also given in Chinese characters.
Inscribed on torn folder: ‘Picture of the Mahommedan Rebel Chang-ki-hur. Ditto, the Chinese Hoo-Loo. Sent to England 1831.’
