Probably by the Calcutta artist Sita Ram, c.1816.

Inscribed: ‘View of a building in the palace of the Emperor Akber at Futtihpore Sicri called the Ek Khumba or Hall of the Pillar. 1816.’

Water-colour; 16 by 16 ins.

Purchased 23 September 1952, along with WD2907-2910 (subsequently renumbered Add.Or.4367-4370).

Note: The style of this drawing matches that of Sita Ram in the albums of views which he painted for Lord and Lady Hastings. See Add.Or.4854 for the same subject.
