Portrait, head and shoulders, three-quarter face of the Mughal Emperor Akbar II (1806-37). He has white hair, wears a blue and red costume ornamented with gold, and he holds a hookah mouthpiece in his right hand. Brown background with part of a pillar on the left hand side.
By a Delhi artist, c.1830.
Inscribed on label on back: ‘Emperor of Dilhi.’
Water-colour on ivory; 2 by 1.5 ins.
