Inscribed at top of mount in Persian: ‘Akbar badshah’ (the emperor Akbar); on reverse in pencil: ‘Akbar (Delhi).’
Gouache with gold; red borders and uncoloured margin.
178 by 112 mm; page 280 by 210 mm.
The emperor Akbar, nimbate, stands facing right holding a white flower in his left hand and a sword in his right. He wears a flowered pink jama, gold turban and ‘patka,’ yellow ‘pai’jama’s’ and blue and gold slippers; a bare landscape in the background with pale blue sky.
