Circumstances of acquisition unrecorded
The original bust, formerly in the Metcalfe Hall, Calcutta, now in the Victoria Memorial Hall, Calcutta, was made before Metcalfe departed for Canada as Governor-General. Another plaster cast belongs to the Royal Asiatic Society and a third to the Oriental Club, London.
