'John (Francis Griffith) Cooke on first posted to Dacca – 1835 was certainly still there in 1839.
Date of original panorama probably 1837 or later

After his death a rumous having arisen, that a large amount of treasure was buried under his house, an extensive excavation was made. Only two measures of oil, however, were found, to repay the trouble and expence of the search.
