A sketch-book of 20 drawings (15 folios) comprising figure, animal studies and landscapes in S. India, the Doab, St. Helena and the Cape of Good Hope. 1803 and 1804. The book also contains newspaper cuttings referring to the Maratha Wars of 1803.
Inscribed inside cover: ‘T. Hastings’; also inscribed in pen-and-ink and pencil with titles.
Pencil, pen-and-ink and water-colour; size of volume 14.5 by 9 ins.
Presented by Lieut.-Colonel Geoffrey Tribe, 8 November 1959.
