Note: Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith (1772-1831) died at Mahabaleshwar in 1831 when Commander-in-Chief, Bombay.
'Monument to the memory of Sir Sidney Beckwith on the Mahableshwur Hills, & the Sanatorium.'The obelisk is 9 metres or 30 feet tall and commemorates Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith (1772-1831) the Commander-in-Chief, Bombay who died at Mahabaleshwar in 1831.
