Inscribed on label on cover: ‘Cast Iron Manufacture. 10 Drawings’; inside cover and on Add.Or.2333: ‘Library India Office.’ Each drawing inscribed with title in Chinese characters.

Gouache; size of volume17.5 by 20.25 ins.

Circumstances of acquisition unrecorded.

Note: This volume is uniform in style with Add.Or.2343-72. All are bound in the same silk brocade and clearly reached the Library at the same time. The inscription ‘Library India Office’ shows that they cannot have been registered by the Library until after 1858 but the drawings may well have been executed and deposited earlier.
