32 miscellaneous drawings (depicting 29 plants, 1 bird, 1 mammal, 1 reptilia). Thirty of these would appear to have been collected at various periods by Sir Stamford Raffles, c.1818-24, but two (nos. 28 and 29) which have 1829 watermarks must have been acquired by Lady Raffles after her husband's death.

Nos, 1-16: Sixteen watercolours, all by the same artist, on thick handmade papers all with dissections apart from no. 7.

Nos, 17-24: Eight watercolours, all by the same artist, on thin Chinese paper.

Nos. 25, 26: Two watercolours probably by the same hand as NHD48 (no. 23), both with dissections.

No. 27: Unfinished pencil drawing.

Nos. 28, 29: Two watercolours on paper, with 1829 watermark

Note: The number in brackets in the following catalogue entries refers to E.J.H. Corner's article, "Paintings of Flowering Plants which Sir Stamford Raffles caused to be made in Bencoolen, Sumatra, March 1824'. Although the plant drawings which were mounted and bound in the original volume now comprising NHD47- 48 would appear to have been made in 1824, there is no evidence to prove that these unmounted drawings (NHD49) were made then.
