AINSLIE, HENRY FRANCIS (c.1805-1879)
British Army. Ensign 83rd Foot 1824; Lieutenant 1826; Captain 1831; Major 1851; Lieut.-Colonel 1854; Colonel 1855; retired 1855. The 83rd Foot sailed for service in India early in 1849, and reached Poona in July. It began to move to Karachi (Sind) in 1850, completing the move by December. It remained there until February 1853, when half was moved to Hyderabad.
